On October 25th a wonderful day was had by all at the 2010 Bud Prince and Princess and Miss Junior Teen Blossomtime Pageant held at the Dowagiac Middle School Performing Arts Center.  Thirty-five young ladies and gentlemen between the ages of six and nine competed for the coveted titles of Bud Prince and Princess this year. 

2010 marks the first ever Miss Junior Teen Blossomtime category, open to young ladies between the ages of 10 and 12 yeas old.  The pageant theme was “Look, I Can Fly” which followed suit for the Blossomtime Festival’s 2010 theme “Where Dreams Come True”.  Each of the 21 participating communities has chosen a “Dream” theme this season for their pageants.  All 39 contestants, dressed in colorful T-shirts, Tinkerbell wings and Peter Pan feathered hats opened the pageant with an exciting dance routine that was enjoyed by the entire audience.

Memorial Service Details

The Blossomtime Royals and the House of David Echoes played to a 7 - 7 tie in a recent game at the 2009 Berrien County Youth Fair. Vintage Base Ball is base ball (yes it was spelled two words prior to the 1880s) played by the rules and customs of the 19th Century.  These teams meet twice a year, once following the Blessing of the Blossoms at the Echoes Eastman Field, Mary’s City of David on Britain Ave. in Benton Charter Township and again during Fair Week at yellow field on land that was once farmed by Mary’s City of David.
